Job Description:

Distribution Centre Associate

Visit for details. Oxford Seminars is searching for a full time Distribution Centre Associate to join our team. Located within the Kingston head office, the successful candidate will ship, receive and record the movement of education related materials to / from students and instructors throughout Canada and the U.S. The successful candidate will continuously improve processes to ensure the safe and cost effective flow of goods while maintaining best practice standards for inventory management and productivity. Note: Packages measure approximately 2 cubic feet and weigh approximately 30 pounds so the Associate must be able to lift and carry these short distances and / or use a hand cart / dolly. Occasional lifting and carrying of packages weighing up to 60 pounds is also required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, plan and create preparation / shipping schedule for materials
  • Track, assess, order, inventory and distribute material based on usage and needs
  • Determine most appropriate shipping methods; arrange and coordinate courier service (e.g. FedEx, USPS, Canada Post) with instructors
  • Track course materials day to day throughout North America
  • Check database for outstanding module / material payment
  • Coordinate with respective departments to resolve related issues
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience:
Post-secondary education or equivalent (business-related diploma / degree a definite asset)
2+ years supply chain or related experience
Knowledge of import, export and customs brokerage
Superior organizational skills, logistics capability and attention to detail
Ability to analyze data and provide feedback to the management team
Very good time management and ability to prioritize
Proven ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing along with exceptional customer service skills
Demonstrates a positive, proactive and “can do” attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), FedEx Insight and Internet applications
Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and disciplines
