Job Description:

If you’re an experienced sales professional who combines a drive to succeed with a knack for building relationships, the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce wants to meet you.

Us

We may be one of the oldest chambers of commerce in Canada, but that doesn’t mean we have to act our age.

The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is on the leading edge of a new generation. We’re innovating, revamping, modernizing. We’re taking educated risks and seeking to grow aggressively through a new, focused approach to what we do and how we do it.

We are a small group, but together we do big things for our almost-one-thousand members. We like to think of ourselves as connectors, advocates and promoters. Our work is all about increasing the chances of business success for our members and ensuring that the contributions being made to our city by the incredible businesses and people here are understood and recognized.

We live in the present with one foot in the future. We know what’s going on, both in our community and in the world. We’re up on the latest news and the latest trends. At the same time, we’re mindful of our heritage and we hold ourselves to the highest possible standards to make sure we’re worthy of continuing a legacy that started over 160 years ago.

You

You’re a seasoned professional. You have at least two years of post-secondary education and at least five years of proven experience in a progressively-evolving sales role, preferably selling services. At the same time, you personify the new generation of sales professionals.

You have the closer’s instinct, but you temper it with a deep understanding of the fact that business development is really about relationship development. Although you’re exhilarated by the thrill of the sale, you get true satisfaction from nurturing long-term relationships with your clients.

You’re a strategist. You have experience crafting and implementing innovative sales strategies that meet and exceed their targets. You embrace technology and are comfortable using cutting-edge Customer Relationship Management software. Above all else, you’re a classic people person. You’re at your happiest when you’re building and growing relationships. Whether you’re sitting around a boardroom table or standing around a shop floor, you instinctively know how to connect with people.

You might describe yourself as ambitious and hardworking. People who know you would describe you as confident and charismatic. You play to win, but you’re a team player first and foremost, and you carry yourself with integrity at all times.
